Crestabocs is a Garnatxa Negra wine with a unique history and an indomitable origin. It is born at the foot of the Crestabocs peak (532m), a steep and rocky peak located in the Muntanya Rodona area, in the heart of the Ordal Mountains. This wild environment, where only goats could reach the top, has inspired the name and character of this wine: a single-varietal Grenache that expresses the pure energy of the territory.
The La Botera vineyard, planted in 2000, has been worked for more than two decades until achieving a perfect balance between vigor, production and quality. After 22 years of observation and maturation, Crestabocs is bottled for the first time as a single-vineyard wine. A project promoted by Martí Albet i Esteve, the new generation of Albet i Noya, with a clear vision: to produce wines with their own identity, faithful to the origin.
An organic Grenache wine, vinified with respect
Crestabocs is vinified with manual harvest and grain-by-grain selection, fermented in cement tanks for 8 days and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels of different capacities (225 and 500 L). Its refinement in bottle gives it balance and depth before being released on the market.
On a sensory level, it presents intense aromas of fresh red fruit, especially strawberry, combined with creamy notes of oak, licorice and sweet spices. On the palate it is a Grenache wine with volume, freshness and marked but integrated tannins, which retains a very characteristic wild point.
Pairing and occasions
Crestabocs is ideal to accompany stewed meat dishes, lamb stews, pork cheeks or even intense vegetarian dishes such as mushroom or legume stews. A wine to enjoy at the table, without rushing, and to share with those who know how to appreciate the character of a wine from a single vineyard.
