Reserva Martí is our great wine for ageing, the result of a careful selection of grapes from the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties. This organic wine has been aged for two years in new French oak barrels from a careful selection of coopers from around the world, and has rested for three more years in the bottle. Its complex ageing aromas evoke memories of fruit macerated in liqueur, creamy oak, fine cocoa, aromatic coffee, minerals and balsamic touches. On the palate, it is fleshy, voluminous, structured, with ripe and very persistent tannins, perfect to enjoy little by little.
It is ideal for pairing with stewed meat dishes, entrecotes or to accompany a table with chocolate and nuts.
What’s behind Martí’s hands?
Reserva Martí reflects the passion and dedication of five generations of winegrowers at Finca de Can Vendrell and is a wine dedicated to Martí Albet i Esteve, Josep Maria Albet’s only son and the last generation of the company.
The first vintage was made in 1993 and was the first blend produced by the winery. Josep Maria Albet explains, “Since it was my first wine where we blended different varieties, I dedicated it to my son because, in a way, he was also the first blend that we had made between me and his mother.”
The hands on the label are a reproduction of Martí’s hands in a kindergarten assignment when he was three years old.
