Where does La Milana come from??

This red wine from Albet i Noya comes from the Can Mil\u00e0 de la Roca<\/strong> estate. Located in extremely calcareous terrain next to the municipality of Lavern, it has a 100% Muntanyes d’Ordal label. Mediterranean forests, dry stone walls, old vineyard terraces and moderate slopes that give this organic wine a very particular label.<\/p>\n

The Can Mil\u00e0 de Roca estate is a historic 25-hectare property located in the municipality of Subirats with more than 150 years of history. In the past, the land was cultivated by Mr. Mil\u00e0’s wife, hence the name La Milana, a well-known pubilla (eldest daughter) in the village to whom we wanted to dedicate this wine. The estate was also owned by the Casanovas Family and Joan Casanovas i Maristany, co-founder of Esquerra Republicana and president of the Parliament of Catalonia between 1933-1938, was also born there.<\/p>\n

Albet i Noya acquired the Can Mil\u00e0 de la Roca estate in 2004 and since then we have worked on it following strict criteria of organic farming. For us Can Mil\u00e0 is a VERY special estate. Some important parcel wines come from here such as El FANIO (100% Xarel\u00b7lo) or El 3 Macabeus (from 3 old Macabeus vineyards).<\/p>\n

On the label you will find a bee-eater, symbol of the biodiversity of this beautiful estate in the Muntanyes d’Ordal.<\/p>\n
