A risky blend, reserved only for the bravest winemakers. The rebellious Viognier, the sweet Vidal, and the rediscovered Marina Rión together in a wine that year after year gains expressiveness.
A complex wine with a brilliant old golden hue. Mature aromas with clear notes of dried flowers, honey, bitter orange and spices. In the mouth it is light, juicy and well balanced. A brilliant way to taste the passage of time.
A wine born of our restless, adventurous spirit. Marina Rión is an ancestral variety rediscovered in the mountains of the Ordal which has given us this special and characteristic wine. It is named after our great grandmother, the first woman in the family to make her home on the estate.
This is an unoaked but complex wine, fresh, powerful and with character. On the nose, notes of exotic fruits like lychee or the white flowers of acacia and lilies stand out, as well as hints of toasted hazelnuts. In the mouth it's bright acidity make it refreshing and ideal for summer afternoons.
The project to recover ancestral varieties was born out of curiosity. To look where there had been a vineyard in the past that had been abandoned since the phylloxera crisis. By 1998 we had found 7 varieties and we planted a small vineyard with 500 vines of each. During 5 harvests we studied them until, in 2006, Marina Rión appeared, our first recovered variety wine. Later came Belat, a red grape that has given us one of the finest, most elegant and exclusive wines in our cellar. And we continue to investigate, harvest after harvest, seeking that excellence and authenticity. | more...
