What are the Clàssic Penedès sparkling wines?

Since 2013, we have been making our sparkling wines here at Albet i Noya under the seal of the Penedès Denomination of Origin, and they receive the name Clàssic Penedès.

What's clàssic Penedès?

In general, choosing Clàssic Penedès means choosing a quality sparkling wine made with organic grapes coming from territories that are registered under the Penedès DO and aged in the bottle for at least 15 months. They are 100% reserve, 100% organic, and 100% from the Penedès. For us, and for all the wineries that form a part of the Clàssic Penedès family, it is a statement about the land and about quality sparkling wines, made using the traditional or ancestral method.

To guarantee their quality, Clàssic Penedès sparkling wines are required to carry the disgorgement date on the label. This information is used to know the wine’s vintage, and it is also a reference to uncork it at the best time to drink it (sparkling wines generally keep their properties in good condition for a year or two after disgorgement).

Starting at 36 months of aging, the concept RESERVE 3, 4, 5, 10, or 15 can be used... according to the number of years that the wine has been in contact with its lees.

Which wineries make Clàssic Penedès?

Right now, there are 18 wineries that make Clàssic Penedès in our Denomination of Origin: Albet i Noya, AT Roca, Aymar, Bonans, Can Morral del Molí, Celler Grapissó, Puig Romeu, Colet, Finca Font de Jui, Finca Viladellops, Loxarel, Mas Bertran, Mas Comptal, Mas dels Clavers, Miquel Jané, MontPicolis, Plana del Jan, and Torre del Veguer.

Which Clàssic Penedès wines do we make at Albet i Noya?

At Albet i Noya we make three lines of Clàssic Penedès sparkling wines..


This is the youngest wine, made with Macabeu, Xarel·lo, and Parellada grapes. It is fresh and fruity, ideal for drinking with appetizers.


These are much more gastronomic wines. The Brut and Brut Nature versions have a blend of Xarel·lo, Macabeu, Parellada and a touch of Chardonnay grapes, which gives them creaminess and volume.

 The Rosat is Brut and it is made 100% with Pinot Noir.

Finally, the family is completed by our most rebellious sparkling wine, a 100% Xarel·lo, without any added sulphites and made using the Ancestral method.



Sparkling wines that have a Chardonnay base, and which offer us the finesse of this French variety that is present all over the world. The Brut 21 is an unheard-of blend of Chardonnay and Parellada grapes that was declared the best reserve sparkling wine of Catalonia in 2020, thanks to the Vinari Awards. The Brut 21 Barrica Reserva 3 is a much more serious sparkling wine made with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and its base wine is fermented in French oak barrels.


On 5 February 1991, our sparkling wine (made at that time in the CAVA DO) got into the restaurant that three brothers from Girona had set up in the back of their parents’ shop. Since then, we have always been the sparkling wine carried by Celler de Can Roca, with 3 Michelin stars, named the Best Restaurant in the world in 2013 by the magazine The World’s 50 Best. If you ever go there, they will receive you with a smile and a glass of Albet i Noya Clàssic Penedès. You will also find it at the Casa Cacao hotel in Girona and the Rocambolesc ice cream shops.
