Albet i Noya

The Japanese Choose Lignum Blanc

The Japanese Choose Lignum Blanc

Lignum blanc won over the Japanese at the Sakura awards contest held in Japan recently

The Albet i Noya wine, made with a blend of Xarel·lo, Chardonnay, and  Sauvignon Blanc grapes, won the highest award, a double gold, in a contest that has the peculiar feature that all of the judges are women. Specifically, 560 women had to choose among 4,333 wines from 29 different countries.

The Lignum blanc wasn’t the only wine to win an award in this Japanese contest. Its brother, the Lignum negre, won a gold medal. In total, Catalan wines won 69 medals, 5 "Double Gold", 33 Gold, and 31 Silver.

These are two informal, fruity wines, with a short stay in a barrel, ideal for drinking alone or with casual meals.

RESERVA MARTÍ, GOLD in MUNDUS VINI

And that’s not the only award that Albet i Noya won this week. In Germany, the 26th Edition of the Mundus Vini Grand International Wine Award was held, and the Reserva Martí 2013 stood out again with a gold medal.  With an eye to Prowein, which will be held in Dusseldorf on 15th March, it will be one of the wines that can be tasted at the biggest wine fair in the world. We will be in pavilion 10, stand H101.
