The 2013 Reserva Marti, Albet i Noya’s iconic wine, has just come out, and it has done so with a new gold medal under its arm. The Challenge Millésime Bio competition evaluated 1612 organic wines from 13 different countries, and Reserva Martí was the only Catalan wine that made it to the highest category.
The 2013 Reserva Martí is made with selected Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Ull de Llebre grapes. It is aged for 24 months in French oak casks, and for more than three years in the bottle.
It wasn’t Albet i Noya’s only wine to win an award at the Millésime Bio competition. El Blanc XXV 2014 (made with Viogner and the experimental Marina Rion and Vidal grape varieties) won a silver medal; and the sparkling wine Brut 21 Barrica (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir), a bronze.
The Millesime Bio Fair takes place in Montpellier from 27th to 29th January, bringing together 1300 international wineries. It’s one of the most important fairs specialised in organic wines.
